In the realm of healthy
eating, pasta often gets a bad rap. After all, the all-too-familiar bowls of starchy noodles topped with calorie-heavy meat ragus and butter-and-cream –laden sauces can’t exactly be considered good-for-you eats. However, with a little imagination, it’s easy to raise the nutrition quotient of all your favorite pasta dishes. We found ways to make offerings like Rigatoni Bolognese and Fettuccine Alfredo better for you (without sacrificing flavor) by substituting traditional high-fat ingredients like heavy cream and ground beef with healthier alternatives such as fat-free cream cheese and turkey sausage. The result? Pastas that are every bit as good for you as they taste. Buon appetito!
